Tripoli: The Director of the Libyan Mine Action Center (LMAC) held an important cooperation meeting with the military engineering team of the Turkish mission in Libya. Center sources reported that this meeting came within the framework of strengthening technical and operational cooperation between the two sides, with the aim of implementing safe detonation operations and disposing of remnants of war that threaten the lives of civilians, especially in densely populated areas.
According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting also focused on the cities of Tripoli, Mizdah, and Misrata, given the importance of the issue in the war remnants file. The Center’s Director emphasized the importance of this cooperation in supporting peace and stability efforts, enhancing the protection of civilians, and developing national capacities in the field of mine action, in line with international standards and humanitarian obligations.
It is worth noting that this meeting comes within the framework of the humanitarian tasks assigned to the LMAC, which aim to eliminate remnants of war scattered throughout the country.
