Tripoli: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity has reached an agreement with the Ambassador of the Republic of India to Libya, Hafiz Rahman Mohammed, to facilitate the issuance of visas for Libyan citizens and businesspeople. The new process will allow visas to be issued directly through the Indian Embassy in Tripoli, eliminating the need for Libyans to travel to Tunisia for this purpose.

According to Libyan News Agency, the agreement was finalized under the leadership of Ashraf Mohammed Al-Taib, Director of the International Cooperation Department at the Ministry. The aim is to enhance bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest and to explore ways to support and develop relations that benefit both countries.

The Ministry also announced plans to convene the Libyan-Indian Joint Committee for its next session in Tripoli, at the ministerial level, with a preparatory meeting involving experts from both nations. Ambassador Hafiz Rahman confirmed during the meeting that the new visa system will soon be operational at the embassy.

The ministry further disclosed that the ambassador outlined the upcoming visit of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to India. This visit will include a high-level delegation to discuss key bilateral, regional, and international issues, as well as to coordinate positions and support in international forums.

In conclusion, both parties stressed the necessity for ongoing consultation and coordination to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Libya and India.
