Tajoura: The Tajoura Nuclear Research Center hosted the signing ceremony of the Country Program Framework (CPF) document for the period 2025-2030, marking a significant step in the technical cooperation agreement between the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the Libyan state.
According to Libyan News Agency, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Atomic Energy Corporation of Libya signed the document in the presence of several representatives who participated in its preparation. The Corporation announced on its official Facebook page that the document was signed in two copies, which had been previously signed by the IAEA and sent to the Corporation for signature. It will serve as a reference for national cooperation strategy priorities and national needs, contributing to sustainable development through the peaceful applications of atomic energy.
The event was attended by the Libyan Ambassador to Austria and Head of the Permanent Mission of Libya to the IAEA, Osama Abdul Jalil, along with members of the Board of Directors. Participants in the preparation and review of the document included representatives from sectors such as health, agriculture, water, animal health, biotechnology, food control, and the Agricultural Research Center. Sulafa Karrar, the official responsible for the Libyan cooperation file at the IAEA, also participated remotely, expressing gratitude for the efforts made in preparing the document.
