Libya-Africa Climate Summit 2025 Considered by House of Representatives

Tripoli: The HoR National Committee for Sustainable Development is evaluating the potential for hosting the Libya-Africa Climate Summit in 2025. The discussion was led by Rabia Aburas, head of the National Committee for Sustainable Development, along with members of the House of Representatives Saad Abdul Qader Al-Badri, Al-Mahdi Masoud Al-Awar, Abdul-Moneim Balkour, and the head of the House of Representatives’ office, Professor Abdullah Al-Masry Al-Fadhil. The meeting took place at the House of Representatives’ office.

According to Libyan News Agency, the summit aims to promote climate governance and transparency, support the advancement of green technology, and ensure equitable and sustainable financing. Additionally, the summit is intended to align with Africa’s Agenda 2063. The Libya-Africa Climate Summit is projected to include participation from the African Parliament, African oversight bodies, the African Peace and Security Council, the African Development Bank, the Green Climate Fund, the European Union, and green finance programs, as highlighted by the council.
