TRIPOLI: Acting Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Stephanie Koury, engaged in discussions with the ambassadors of the Republic of Korea and Malta as part of ongoing efforts to address the political challenges in Libya. The meetings focused on strategies to reinvigorate the political process and promote economic reforms.
According to Libyan News Agency, Koury’s meeting with Jehak Jang, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, included a review of the current political situation in Libya. Koury emphasized her consultations with Libyan and international stakeholders, aiming to breathe new life into the political process. Ambassador Jang reiterated Korea’s commitment to supporting UNSMIL’s mission to uphold stability in Libya, noting Korea’s role as a member of the United Nations Security Council.
In her meeting with Charles Saliba, the Ambassador of Malta, Koury discussed the UN-facilitated political process and the prevailing situation in Libya. Both parties underscored the signifi
cance of unifying institutions and setting the stage for national elections, highlighting their shared vision for Libya’s political future.
