Khoury Supports Initiatives for Social Cohesion and Tolerance in Libya

Tripoli: Khoury welcomes all efforts aimed at preserving social cohesion and tolerance in the country. The Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Stephanie Khoury, met yesterday with Osama Ben Hamel, Head of the Sheikh Ahmed Al-Qatani Center for Culture and Islamic Studies.

According to Libyan News Agency, during the meeting, Ben Hamel reviewed the history of Sufi leaders in Libya, highlighting their role in promoting social peace, as stated in a statement published by the UN mission on its website.

Khoury expressed her appreciation for the diversity in Libya and welcomed all efforts aimed at preserving social cohesion and tolerance in the country, acknowledging the significant role of cultural and religious leaders in fostering unity.
