Italy hands over two naval units to Libya to support the coast guard and port security.

The Presidency of the General Staff announced the arrival of two new naval boats at the Tripoli Naval Base, type “Krubia”, after receiving them from Italy, for use in law enforcement in the waters under the sovereignty of Libya.

The communication office of the Presidency of the General Staff of the Libyan Army said on its Facebook page, that this comes within the framework of Libyan-Italian cooperation and in implementation of the agreements and commitments between the two sides in supporting the Coast Guard and port security with the support and sponsorship of the European Union.

It added that the Chief of Staff of the Naval Forces, Major General Noureddine Al-Boni, visited the two boats yesterday before carrying out their duties, in the presence of the commander of the Tripoli Naval Base, the commander of the Naval Operations Division, and the commanders of the departments and sectors of the Coast Guard and Ports Security.
