Niamey, Italy and Niger jointly consider Libya’s independence and territorial integrity an important goal for both countries as they are close neighbors, according to Italy’s special envoy to Libya, Nicola Orlando.
On his Twitter account, the Italian Special Envoy to Libya, Nicola Orlando, tweeted: (During my meetings with Niger Foreign Minister Hassoumi Masoudou, I emphasized that Italy and Niger share the primary goal of Libya’s independence and territorial integrity, and as Libya’s direct neighbors, we are concerned regarding the destabilizing impact of the presence of mercenaries, as well as the illegal trade in the region, and we will continue to closely coordinate on these issues).
