Iraq and Germany discuss ways of joint cooperation in the field of investment and support for the displaced people

The Minister of Finance, Taif Sami Muhammad, received, today, Thursday, Chargé d’Affaires of the Federal Embassy of Germany in Baghdad, Philip Holse Apfel, accompanied by the International Director of the German Development Bank, Anna Banke.

The meeting witnessed, according to the statement, the signing of the amendment to an agreement within the German credit facilities projects to assist the return of displaced persons in Iraq (GCFI) through the German Development Bank KFW.

The Minister of Finance referred to “Iraq’s openness to all forms of trade and economic exchange and partnership with the German side, and all that aims to develop cooperation in the financial and investment sectors and the entry of German companies into development projects in Iraq.”

For his part, the German Chargé d’Affaires expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Minister of Finance for its interest in continuing the relations of the two countries, stressing his country’s keenness to strengthen the bonds of joint cooperation at various levels, including the file of providing support to the displaced people from Iraq.
