House of Representatives Suspends Session Amid Discussions on Libyan Government Formation

Benghazi: The House of Representatives (HoR) has suspended its session, initially held today at its Benghazi headquarters, until Tuesday. The session was presided over by Speaker Aguila Saleh and attended by First Deputy Speaker Fawzi al-Nuwairi.

According to Libyan News Agency, HoR spokesman Abdullah Blihaq noted that Speaker Saleh addressed several points concerning the Libyan file. He highlighted the importance of international support for the establishment of a unified government, emphasizing that forming such a government is a priority at this stage.

Blihaq further explained that today’s session involved discussions on a range of issues, including presidential decrees issued by the President of the Presidential Council. In response, the HoR decided to task its Advisory Committee with preparing a legal response to these decrees. Consequently, the session was adjourned until Tuesday.
