Tripoli: The House of Representatives (HoR) called on the Attorney General to take legal measures to protect the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) and confront attempts to incite and control it and isolate the governor by force and threats under the pretext that the HoR had previously taken a decision to appoint a new governor. The Council also called, in a statement yesterday, the UNSMIL to take a clear and serious position against these attempts and to inform the Security Council on the risks that are threatening the bank. The HoR considered that protecting the CBL, which is the bank of all Libyans and the repository of their wealth, from tampering, is a national and moral responsibility before being a legal obligation.
