His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports First Deputy Chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President, received Joe Dumars, the Executive Vice-President, Head of Basketball Operations of the US National Basketball League (NBA).
His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, GSA Deputy Chairman, and Dr. Abdulrahman Askar, GSA Chief Executive Officer, were present.
HH Shaikh Khalid commended the efforts exerted by NBA to develop basketball in the USA and the world, praising NBA’s prestigious reputation.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad and Joe Dumars discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation to develop basketball in Bahrain by availing of US technical and administrative expertise, especially in the midst of NBA’s popularity in the kingdom.
NBA Executive Vice-President welcomed cooperation with Bahrain, and expressed readiness to provide American expertise in the basketball field. He also appreciated the hospitality and warm welcome accorded to him and his delegation.
