Tripoli, – The Head of the Candidates Section of the Operations Department of the High National Elections Commission, “Touati Ramadan Touati,” confirmed that the department’s employees are now examining and auditing the files of candidates for the presidential and House of Representatives elections received from the electoral management offices, after receiving them, according to the conditions stipulated by the electoral laws.
Al-Tawati added that after the examination and scrutiny process is completed, the preliminary lists of candidates will be published, which include the names of all those who have applied to run for election, and then the period for submitting appeals and grievances about this candidacy will begin, according to what was published by the official page of the Commission.
He pointed out that upon the expiry of the legal period for submitting appeals, which the laws set at 12 days, the final lists of candidates for the presidential and parliament elections will be published, stressing that the names that will appear in those lists will be final and they will be included in the ballot papers.
