Head of the Antiquities Authority and French Ambassador discuss cooperation between the two countries in area of antiquities

Tripoli – GNU-Head of the Antiquities Authority, Mohamed Faraj, met in Tripoli with French Ambassador to Libya, Mostafa Maharaj.

According to the Communication Office of the Authority stated that the meeting reviewed aspects of cooperation between the two countries in areas of cultural heritage, and ways to support and develop the joint work in areas of study, restoration and maintenance of archaeological sites, and combating illegal trafficking in cultural property.

The meeting was attended by the Head of the Scientific Committee for the National Museum Rehabilitation Project, the Director of the Communication Office of the Authority, and the Cultural Adviser at the French Embassy.

For his side, Maharaj expressed his happiness at visiting Mohamed Faraj in his office in the old city in Tripoli.

Maharaj said in a tweet that the meeting was dealt with Libyan-French cooperation projects in area of antiquities, modernizing the Tripoli Museum, and combating trafficking in archaeological property.
