Head of Presidential Council Meets German Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in Tripoli

Tripoli: The Head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Al-Menfi, met with a delegation from the Federal Republic of Germany led by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Von Geyr. The meeting took place in Tripoli and focused on strengthening cooperation between Libya and Germany.

According to Libyan News Agency, the German Minister conveyed greetings from Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz and emphasized Germany's commitment to enhancing partnerships across various fields. Al-Menfi acknowledged the significant role of German diplomacy in supporting Libya's progress and highlighted ongoing efforts to strengthen international cooperation for comprehensive stability in the country.

The German Minister praised the advancements in Libya's national reconciliation process and the adoption of the National Charter for Reconciliation, which aims to bolster national unity and social peace. The discussions, also attended by German Ambassador to Libya Ralph Tarraf, covered political, economic, and security developments, as well as issues of illegal immigration and human rights enhancement.
