Head of GNU Government Attends celebration by municipality of Souq Al Gomoa of 11th anniversary of the February 17 Revolution.

Tripoli, The Head of the Government of National Unity Abdul Hamid Al Dbeiba participated Thursday in a celebration in the municipality of Souq Al Gomoa marking the 11th anniversary of the February 17th revolution.

The ceremony was attended by Acting Minister of Education, and Ministers of Economy, Youth, Employment, Transport, Local Government, Housing, and water resources.

The event was also attended by Head of the Development of Administrative Centres, members of the municipal council, dignitaries, wise men, a number of families of martyrs and a number of citizens of the municipality.

The Prime Minister delivered a speech on the occasion in which he congratulated the participants on the eleventh anniversary of the revolution, praising the role of Souq Al Gomoa area in the Libyan Jihad movement past and present.

The Prime Minister stressed that the Cabinet will issue several important decisions regarding the development of infrastructure, road maintenance and the allocation of some headquarters and service places in the municipality, in addition to projects carried out by the government within the municipality such as the building of health facilities, educational institutions as part of the return of life plan.

The Prime Minister stressed the need to draft and adopt a constitution agreed upon by all Libyans, to regulate their lives, elect a unified and elected legislative council, and stop foreign interference in Libyan affairs.

The High National Election Commission has no problem conducting parliamentary elections next June, Al Dbeiba said, renewing his call for holding parliamentary and presidential elections and his rejection of the extension of the current House of Representatives and other political bodies.
