Government and Belarus Sign Memoranda for Joint Cooperation in Multiple Sectors

Benghazi: The government assigned by the representatives, led by Prime Minister Osama Hammad, has signed memoranda of understanding with Belarus for joint cooperation across several fields. The signing took place on Sunday in Benghazi with Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich.

According to Libyan News Agency, the ceremony was held during the visit of the Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister, who was accompanied by a ministerial delegation. This delegation included the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Ministers of Industry, Agriculture, Health, Emergencies, and Education, as well as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Belarusian State Oil and Chemical Company “Belneftekhim”.

The memorandum covers cooperation in agriculture and food security, industry, geological exploration services, health care, training of medical personnel, education, security, and disaster prevention. It emphasizes exchanging best practices in disaster prevention, emergency response, training, and equipment supply.

Both nations agreed to form a joint contact group to oversee the coordination and implementation of the agreements. The group will facilitate information exchange and establish mechanisms for progress in priority cooperation areas by identifying authorized bodies to develop and implement joint projects, alongside preparing roadmaps for bilateral agreements and work plans.

The government highlighted that the Belarusian delegation’s visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations and elevate cooperation levels in agricultural, industrial, technical, and health sectors, aligning with the shared interests of both countries.
