GNU Minister of Oil and Gas participates in the ministerial meeting of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries.

Tripoli, GNU Minister of Oil and Gas Mohamed Aoun participated virtually in the 182 regular ministerial meeting of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

The meeting reviewed the report of the Economic Commission and the Report of the Secretary-General, and they agreed to appoint the Minister of Hydrocarbons of the Republic of Congo as President of the Organization, and the Governor of the State of Iraq as Chairman of the Board of Governors for 2022.

The Council of Ministers has also adopted the fourth version of the Organization’s long-term strategy and approved the estimated budget for the coming year.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to hold the next regular ministerial meeting (183) at the beginning of July 2022 in Vienna, Austria.
