Tripoli, 10 March 2022 (Lana) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has announced the evacuation of 1,200 Libyan nationals from Ukraine in recent days.

The Undersecretary for Consular Affairs, Head of the Libyan Crisis Committee in Ukraine, Murad Hameima, confirmed that the Libyan Embassy in Ukraine was coordinating fully with the relevant committee since the beginning of its work.

Hmeima said that 529 Libyan nationals were evacuated from Kiev in the first batch, 341 in the second batch, 79 in the third batch, 75 and then 42 citizens, while 139 citizens were evacuated from Odessa, 49 from Kharakov and from the city of Oraya 95 citizens, and 22 others from the city of Sumi with a total of 1,200 Libyan citizens evacuated from Ukraine to neighboring Poland, Slovakia and Romania.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Stranded Libyan Crisis Committee in Ukraine visited Slovakia to facilitate the evacuation and overcome difficulties facing the Libyan Embassy then it went to Kiev in the past few days to supervise with embassy members and members of the community the evacuation of Libyan citizens stranded in various Ukrainian cities, praising their role and their efforts.
