GNU Delegation Explores Economic Cooperation with US Trade Office

Washington: A delegation from the Government of National Unity engaged in discussions with the Office of the United States Trade Representative to explore cooperation opportunities in oil and gas, renewable energy, health, digital transformation, infrastructure, and digital payments.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting held in Washington was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the economic partnership between the two countries. Participants included members from the Trade and Investment Council (TIFA) and the Libyan-American Trade and Investment Council.

The delegation presented the government’s vision for enhancing the investment environment and aimed to provide facilities for American companies operating in Libya. The American representatives expressed their commitment to widening the scope of the US Customs Preferential Program (GSP) for Libya. This initiative is expected to boost Libyan exports to the US market and support endeavors to improve Libya’s position on international trade lists.
