GCC calls for permanent ceasefire in Gaza

The Gulf Cooperation Council called for a permanent cessation of the war in Gaza and the implementation of the outcomes of the Taif Agreement on Lebanon. The extraordinary meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries issued a statement that read: "A ceasefire must be established in Gaza and Resolution 1701 and the outcomes of the Taif Agreement on Lebanon must be implemented." The statement stressed the Council's support for efforts aimed at a ceasefire in Gaza, the centrality of the Palestinian cause and the necessity of ending the occupation.
