Tripoli-President of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Al Mnefi praised the distinguished Libyan-French relations and the efforts of the Republic of France to stabilize Libya.
This came during an audience Al Mnefi gave on Saturday in the capital Tripoli to the French President’s Special Envoy to Libya, Paul Soler, to discuss developments in the political situation in Libya.
During the meeting, Al Mnefi reiterated the Presidential Council commitment to the democratic track, which includes the unification of sovereign institutions and the holding of elections.
According to the Council’s Communication office, the French envoy explained that France will play a positive role in the stability of Libya, leading to an agreement and a political solution, to achieve simultaneous parliamentary and presidential elections on the basis of a consensual constitutional framework.
