Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met on Tuesday 6/2/2024 with Egyptian Candidate for UNESCO director-general post Khaled el Enany.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest developments in the nomination campaign, as part of the regular follow up of the campaign.
The meeting also discussed the upcoming plan of the campaign until the date of the election, which is due to be held in the last quarter of 2025 at UNESCO’s headquarters in Paris, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid.
Shoukry was also keen to get acquainted with the outcome of Enany’s visits to several member states of the UNESCO, the last of which included South Africa, Botswana and France, added the spokesman.
