Tripoli: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan emphasized the importance of stability in Libya during his meetings in Tripoli and Benghazi. According to Libyan News Agency, Fidan met with Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, head of the Government of National Accord, as part of a two-day visit aimed at reinforcing Turkish-Libyan relations.
Fidan's discussions focused on strengthening ties based on historical connections and mutual benefits across political, commercial, military, defense, and energy sectors. He reiterated Trkiye's commitment to closely monitoring American initiatives and the UN political process in Libya, underscoring the significance of stability in the region.
Within Turkey's "One Libya" policy, Fidan stressed Ankara's intent to engage in dialogue with Libyan officials from all regions of the country. He highlighted the importance of safeguarding shared rights and interests in the Eastern Mediterranean through a "win-win" approach.
Fidan also expressed Turkey's eagerness to enhance energy cooperation with Libya, develop new projects, and maintain the secure operation of Turkish companies, especially in the construction sector. These efforts aim to boost economic and trade cooperation between the two nations.
