European Commission president: New chapter in EU’s partnership with Egypt

President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said a Joint Egypt-EU Investment Conference is good for having a new chapter in partnership between both sides.

She said it is ‘good to be’ in Cairo for the conference with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

‘In March we opened a new chapter in our partnership. Today we deliver,’ she said in a post on X social network.

The European Commission chief said the EU invests in Egypt’s clean energy potential, skills for the youth and in reforms for a dynamic economy with pound 1 billion in support.

The event, hosted by Egypt on Saturday and Sunday, kicks off on Saturday in the presence of President Sisi and the European Commission President.

It is also important for introducing the various investment opportunities available in various economic sectors in Egypt.

The conference enhances aspects of economic cooperation between Egypt and European countries, and expands the frameworks of their joint cooperation.
