The General Directorate of Energy Efficiency at the Ministry of Electricity and Water Affairs presented a workshop entitled “Electric Vehicles and Their Future in Bahrain… How to Get One?”

The workshop, which is part of the training programme provided by the Ministry at the Youth City 2030, gave relevant details about electric vehicles (EVs) and how to charge them. It also highlighted the global trends in the transportation sector.

The event is in line with the efforts of the Ministry of Electricity and Water Affairs to develop a strategy for electric vehicles, aimed at raising public awareness about the importance of adopting and including these vehicles, encouraging their spread, reducing total dependence on fossil fuels and their consumption, reducing pollution and carbon emissions, improving the quality of life and achieving sustainable development goals.

It is worth noting that the Electricity and Water Affairs Ministry’s training workshops at Youth City 2030 focus on a number of topics related to renewable energy and energy efficiency, as part of a comprehensive awareness plan that falls within the framework of doubling efforts to achieve the national goals of reaching zero carbon neutrality by 2060, and interim goals that include reducing carbon emissions by 30% by 2035, and accelerating efforts to achieve those goals.
