Electoral Commission Sets Appeal Dates for Municipal Council Elections

Tripoli: The Electoral Commission has announced that February 10th and 11th will be the dates designated for filing appeals against the municipal council elections.

According to Libyan News Agency, the High National Elections Commission stated that appeals against the preliminary results of the municipal council elections for Group Three - 2025 will be accepted within two working days following the publication of these results. The Commission clarified that appeals should be submitted to the district courts within the jurisdiction of the relevant municipalities on the specified dates, in alignment with Chapter Ten (Appeals) of the Executive Regulations for Municipal Council Elections.

The Commission had earlier confirmed the preliminary results of the municipal council elections in the areas of Tajoura, Al-Jadida, Sayyad, and Al-Hashan, which were conducted last Saturday. Additionally, the Elections Commission announced the formation of the newly elected municipal council in Suluq, pending official recognition after the announcement of the final results for Group Three - 2025 municipal council elections.
