Tripoli: The High National Elections Commission (HNEC) inaugurated its vote counting and statistics center at its headquarters in Tripoli on Sunday. This significant step marks the commencement of the post-election procedures following the recent polling activities.
According to Libyan News Agency, the opening of the center comes after the receipt of ballot boxes from the municipalities of Tajoura, Sayyad, and Al-Hashan, where citizens cast their votes on Saturday, February 7, 2026. The center’s primary role is to manage the sorting and counting of the ballot results forms, a crucial part of ensuring a fair and transparent electoral process.
The staff at the center have started the meticulous task of entering and verifying data, adhering to established technical procedures and standards.
