Cairo: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Ati briefed his French counterpart, Jean-No«l Barrot, during a phone call on Egypt’s efforts to support Libyan national efforts within the framework of the principle of purely Libyan ownership of the political settlement.
According to Libyan News Agency, Abdel-Ati emphasized the importance of supporting all efforts aimed at forming a unified government that would create the appropriate conditions for holding simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections as soon as possible, according to a statement from the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.
Abdel-Ati stressed the necessity of the withdrawal of all foreign forces, foreign fighters, and mercenaries from Libyan territory without exception or delay, in compliance with relevant Security Council resolutions, which would contribute to restoring Libya’s full sovereignty and preserving its security, stability, and territorial integrity.
