Cairo: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aty engaged in a phone discussion with the US President’s Senior Advisor for Arab and Middle East Affairs, Massad Boulos, focusing on the current developments in Libya.
According to Libyan News Agency, Abdel Aty discussed the outcomes of the recent Tripartite Mechanism meeting held in Cairo, which included the foreign ministers of Egypt, Algeria, and Tunisia. The meeting underscored the necessity to preserve security and stability in Libya, protect the nation’s assets, and uphold its unity and territorial integrity. Abdel Aty highlighted the critical need for the withdrawal of all foreign forces, mercenaries, and armed factions from Libya, aiming to restore stability in the region.
Boulos, on his part, reiterated the significance of achieving stability in Libya and resolving the ongoing division within the country.
