Designated Interior Minister discusses with the Italian Ambassador to Libya repercussions of security and illegal immigration files on the two countries

Tripoli – Designated Interior Minister ,Emad Trabelsi, discussed with Italian Ambassador to Libya , Giuseppe Buccino, security and illegal immigration files and their political, economic, social, health, and security repercussions on the two countries.

During the meeting which was held yesterday at the Ministry’s office in Tripoli, in the presence of the political advisor, the consul general, and the assistant security representative at the Italian embassy , Trabelsi said that a committee was formed from the components of the competent ministry, where a plan of four pillars was prepared starting from protecting (borders-desert-cities-sea) that can be jointly worked on to have a positive impact on the ground.

Trabelsi urged Buccino to provide greater facilities for granting visas to Libyan citizens, and to work to raise efficiency and enhance the capabilities of Libyan police cadres.

Trabelsi also called the Italian companies to return and work in Libya, in light of the of the improvement in security situation, praising the work and activity of the Italian Embassy inside Libya, according to the communication office of the Ministry of Interior.

Buccino stressed the depth of relationship between the two friendly countries, highlighting that the Italian government position is fully compatible with the Libyan position on many important issues.

Buccino expressed his happiness with this meeting, stressing the importance of further activating communication for joint action in the interest of both sides.
