Tripoli:Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdulhamid Dbeibah, announced that the unified salary scale will be implemented starting with the salaries for the current month of October.
According to Libyan News Agency, this announcement was made during a meeting held on Tuesday with the General Syndicate of Libyan Teachers, led by Head of the Syndicate Ramadan Hammoum. The meeting was also attended by Minister of Finance Rashid Abu-Ghafa and the Secretary-General of the Cabinet Office, Adel Dweihir. Discussions focused on issues related to the educational process and teachers' rights, coinciding with the announcement that schools would reopen to students starting Wednesday.
Dbeibah emphasized that students' interests are a priority and reaffirmed the government's commitment to supporting teachers and educational staff. He praised the Syndicate's efforts to protect teachers' rights and highlighted the importance of collaboration among stakeholders to improve education.
The Prime Minister detailed that the unified salary scale will take effect with the October salaries to promote social justice. He mentioned the regular disbursement of the "class-load allowance" with the Ministry of Education, payment of allowances for school principals and deputies with the October salaries, and the calculation of salary differentials from Law No. 4 for teacher entitlements.
Regarding health insurance, Dbeibah stated that the government plans to include all state workers in its insurance plan while continuing to develop regulations for teacher protection.
The Head of the General Syndicate of Libyan Teachers expressed appreciation for the government's efforts to support teachers and the educational process, acknowledging the measures and support packages implemented for teachers' benefit.
