Dabaiba discusses with a number of ministers the repercussions of the rise in prices of basic commodities in the country

Tripoli- The Head of the National Unity Government, “Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba” stressed not to allow the unacceptable increase in the prices of basic commodities by traders, calling for setting controls to follow up on these prices.

This came during the expanded meeting held by “Al-Dabaiba” today, Tuesday, at the headquarters of the Prime Minister’s Office in Tripoli, in the presence of the Ministers of Economy and Trade, Local Government, the Head of the Municipal Guard, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, the President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister called for the necessity of providing basic commodities during the month of Ramadan in appropriate quantities, with the need to support and encourage merchants to provide the appropriate quantities of them, according to what was published by the media office of the Prime Minister on his official page on the “Facebook” website.

For his part, the Minister of Economy reassured that all commodities and foodstuffs, including flour, are available, calling for the need to set controls for the prices of these commodities and to be followed up by the Municipal Guard.

He also stressed that the oil commodity is available in appropriate quantities, and the rise in its prices will not continue and will be followed up by the Municipal Guard.

In his turn, the Minister of Local Government said in his speech during the meeting that coordination is continuing between the Municipal Guard, the Ministry, and the Bakers Syndicate to follow up on laboratories in terms of weight and price, stressing that the price adjustment is carried out according to international flour prices.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed the need to support and encourage merchants by the Ministry of Economy and the Municipal Guard in accordance with approved controls.
