Egyptian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Ahmed Khalifa on Monday 26/8/2024 held talks with U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Charles Brown, who is currently visiting Egypt with an accompanying delegation. A formal reception was held at the Ministry of Defense headquarters in Cairo, where the national anthems of Egypt and the US were played. During the meeting, the two military commanders discussed several issues of mutual interest, with a particular focus on the ongoing crisis in Gaza and regional and international developments. The talks also explored ways to enhance military cooperation between the Egyptian and U.S. armed forces. Gen. Khalifa expressed appreciation of the strong military ties between the two countries and emphasized Egypt's commitment to expanding military collaboration with the US in various fields. General Brown, in turn, praised Egypt's leading role in supporting regional security and stability and reaffirmed the U.S.'s commitment to strengthening bilateral military relat ions to serve the mutual interests of both countries.
