Conclusion of the European program supporting the private sector in Libya

Tripoli 8 December 2022 (Lana) the conclusion of the European program was celebrated yesterday, which was held within the framework of supporting the private sector in Libya, which is implemented by Expertise France Foundation in cooperation with Ministry of Economy and Trade, Ministry of Planning, and many institutions concerned with the economic aspect in Libya.

At the ceremony, which was attended by Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohamed Al-Haweij, they reviewed the most important program’s work and its achievements since its launching during the three years, in supporting the private sector in Libya through enhancing the capabilities of Libyan economic institutions, improving its mechanism, preparing the Libyan economy for investment, and supporting the commercial chambers to improve services of supporting the economic and reforms works.

The program also included the work to push contribution of youth and women to entrepreneurship and financing of small and medium enterprises in the educational system in Libyan universities through agreement, cooperation, and participation with Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

During the ceremony, the contribution of the private sector in Libya through companies and factories to contribute in supporting the national economy was discussed, stressing the need to enable the private sector by creating the conditions for it, to take its position in achieving a national industry.

On the sidelines of the ceremony a national fair for startups was held for a number of business leaders.
