Central Bank of Libya Announces Conclusion of 50-Dinar Note Withdrawal

Tripoli: The Central Bank of Libya (CBL) confirmed the expiration of the deadline for withdrawing the first and second issues of the fifty-dinar banknote on April 30, 2025.

According to Libyan News Agency, the CBL explained in a statement that it is currently finalizing the technical and administrative procedures necessary to account for the withdrawn banknotes. This step is part of the CBL’s ongoing commitment to maintaining monetary discipline and supporting financial stability within the country.

The CBL also expressed gratitude towards commercial banks, their branches, and employees, along with the CBL’s issuance departments and divisions across Libya. The bank acknowledged the exceptional efforts made during the implementation of the decision to withdraw the fifty-dinar banknotes, underscoring the collaborative effort required to ensure the success of this monetary initiative.
