London A real estate company representing Queen Elizabeth II has refused to hand over Roman-era Libyan antiquities stolen more than 200 years ago.

Libyan lawyer Mohamed Shaaban made a formal request for the return of the ancient monuments, a wooden mosaic located in Windsor Great Park, brought to this place in 1816 from Libya.

In their response to the request, the Queen’s representatives said: “Our client (referring to Queen Elizabeth) asked us to inform you that the columns would not be returned to Libya,” according to a report published online by The National News on Friday.
