Brasília: The Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade, and Services reported a notable increase in exports to Libya, with figures reaching USD 60.2 million in January this year. This represents a 22.3% increase from the USD 49.2 million recorded in the same month last year.
According to Libyan News Agency, the top export product from Brazil to Libya was beef, which totaled USD 16.4 million, marking a significant rise of 112.9% from USD 7.7 million in January 2024. The agency further highlighted that the beef industry group Abrafrigo noted substantial growth in beef exports to Libya at the start of the year.
Sugar emerged as the second most exported product, with sales amounting to USD 14.1 million. The exports of chicken meat also increased in value, with USD 12.8 million exported in January of this year, compared to USD 8.8 million during the same period in 2024.
Chicken offal exports reached USD 10.5 million this year, up from USD 7.8 million in January of last year. Coffee exports also saw gr
owth, rising from USD 2.1 million in January 2024 to USD 3.3 million last month.
