Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Mar Beshara Boutros Al-Rahi, on Tuesday met in Bkerki with Deputy House Speaker, Elias Bou Saab. After the meeting, Bou Saab affirmed that the visit is ‘exploratory’ in nature, expressing great regret that officials dealing with the presidential file ‘are not giving enough attention to the time factor.’ ‘We have not yet reached the stage of names to be proposed for the presidency because political parties have not yet agreed over a common name,’ Bou Saab said, pushing for dialogue to reach the aspired outcome. ‘Our crisis is greater and deeper than just the name of a president; it is rather the unwillingness of any of the parties to hold dialogue with one another,’ Bou Saab concluded. Patriarch Al-Rahi separately welcomed a delegation representing the “Independents for Lebanon”.
