Tripoli: Minister of State for the Prime Minister and Cabinet Affairs Mohammed Ben Ghalboun met with Sheikh Al-Zein Al-Arabi Al-Dardir, imam of Talha bin Ubaidullah Mosque and Imam Al-Qarafi Mosque, in the presence of the Minister of Environment.
According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting addressed a number of issues of public interest and stressed the importance of the role of religious scholars and preachers in promoting the values of moderation, national unity, and public awareness.
The meeting also discussed the recently issued guidelines regulating religious discourse as a general framework to be followed by religious institutions in a manner that reinforces the unifying values of Islam.
For his part, Sheikh Al-Dardir expressed his appreciation for the guidelines, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between religious scholars, preachers, and state institutions to help strengthen stability and promote the tolerant values of Islam. He also affirmed his commitment to continuing his religious and educational mission in serving society, raising public awareness, and preserving national unity.
