Benghazi: Belarus opened its consulate in Benghazi on Saturday, attended by Abdul Hadi Al-Huwaij, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the government assigned by Parliament, and Viktor Karankevich, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus.
According to Libyan News Agency, the event was graced by the presence of the Deputy Speaker of the Belarusian Parliament and Sergei Lukashevich, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus. A high-level delegation accompanied them, comprising the Ministers of Health, Industry, and Agriculture from the Belarusian government, alongside several department directors from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
During the ceremony, both countries highlighted the strategic importance of the new Belarusian Consulate in Benghazi, viewing it as a pivotal development in bolstering bilateral relations. The consulate is expected to play a crucial role in enhancing joint cooperation across various fields, including politics, economics, and culture.
