Batili to the Social Councils: Some politicians do not want to find a solution to the Libyan situation

Sirte- The envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General for Libya, Abdullah Batili, met this Thursday evening in the city of Sirte, a number of wise men, dignitaries and sheikhs from different regions of Libya.

The meeting, which was attended by the members of the Joint Military Committee (5 + 5) and the mayor of Sirte, “Mukhtar Al-Maadani” – began with a number of speeches that stressed the need to expedite the completion of the presidential and parliamentary elections, and to support the (5 + 5) committee in completing all items. agreed upon in the cease-fire resolution, as well as the points agreed upon in the previous committee meetings, in addition to the equitable distribution of wealth among the various regions

In turn, Batelli praised the role of the Joint Military Committee (5 + 5) in achieving security and military stability inside the country, stressing the United Nations’ support for all efforts aimed at removing the specter of political division, preserving Libya’s sovereignty and unity, and supporting any action that contributes to the exit of foreign forces from the country.

In his speech at the meeting, Batili pointed out that there are some politicians who do not want to find a solution to the Libyan situation, and that the United Nations and the Security Council sent a strong message to them, adding that he would communicate with all Libyan factions to get out of this crisis.
