Tripoli -The UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, today, welcomed the commitment of all Libyan parties to find a local-led solution to the political crisis.
“Before my departure for the Security Council briefing in New York, I had a series of consultation with the President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Menfi, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ageela Saleh, the Head of the High Council of State Khalid Al-Mishri, General Commander Haftar, and a delegation representing PM Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah”, Bathily said in a tweet.
“I welcome the commitment of all to find a Libyan-led solution to the political crisis, and we must all work together to end the current impasse and meet the aspirations of Libyan people,” he added.
Bathily indicated that there is an increasing convergence of views that elections should take place in 2023.
