Tripoli -The UN Envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, called on the international community to unify its position in the Libyan’s aspirations to hold national comprehensive elections, in accordance with a constitutional framework.
Bathily renewed his call for the leaderships of the House of Representatives and the High Council of State, to facilitate the holding of presidential and parliamentary elections through a clear and implementable agreement.
Bathily indicated that his meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, Antonio Tajani, was a constructive meeting, and they discussed the political, economic, and security developments in Libya, appreciating the continued Italian support for the efforts of the UN to facilitate holding elections in 2023.
