Announcing the launch of the first prize competition for the best olive oil in Libya under the slogan (Our oil is good and blessed)

Tripoli-The Director General of the National Program for Small and Medium Enterprises, “Abdel Nasser Abu Zaqia”, announced the launch of the first national prize competition for the best olive oil in Libya for the year 2022, under the slogan (Our olive oil is good and blessing), and in the presence of “Mohammed Al-Huwaij”, Minister of Economy and Trade of the Government of National Unity, and a number of directors of departments in the program.

The competition aims to encourage small farmers to develop and pay attention to modern methods in managing these agricultural projects in order to adopt quality standards conforming to international specifications, and to guide decision makers in Libya to support emerging projects in the agricultural sector and a source of income diversity and a tool for spatial development.

For his part, Abu Zakia explained that this competition is the first of its kind in Libya, and aims to motivate the owners of olive trees to pay attention to this blessed tree and motivate young people to engage in small and medium enterprises in the agricultural sector, as it is a source of income and a local product of great importance.

During the launch of competition, a visual presentation was made explaining the historical importance of the olive tree, the role of the national program in establishing this competition, the dates of receiving and sending olive oil samples, and the objectives and conditions of the competition.
