Tripoli: Ambassador Abdel-Muttalib Thabet, Libya's permanent representative to the League of Arab States and Chargé d'Affaires of the Libyan Embassy in Cairo, met with Nabil Fahmy, the newly assigned Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, to extend his congratulations on the occasion of Fahmy's new role. According to Libyan News Agency, Thabet conveyed the greetings and congratulations from several high-ranking Libyan officials, including the President of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Al-Menfi, Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul-Hamid Dbaibah, and the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Al-Taher Al-Baour. He wished Fahmy success in his new responsibilities. The Libyan ambassador reaffirmed Libya's full support for the new Secretary-General, highlighting Fahmy's diplomatic and political experience. He appreciated Fahmy's upcoming role in strengthening the League of Arab States and developing mechanisms for joint Arab action to address regiona l challenges. The meeting also focused on enhancing cooperation and coordination among Arab countries and supporting the League's efforts in political, economic, and development initiatives. Ambassador Thabet emphasized Libya's commitment to the Arab League as a platform for joint Arab action and expressed his country's dedication to initiatives aimed at fostering security, stability, and development in the region. Nabil Fahmy, in response, expressed his appreciation for the congratulations and stressed the importance of ongoing consultation and coordination among Arab nations to enhance the League's role in addressing common Arab issues.
