Alternative Sanctions signs MoU with Applied Science University to offer programmes for beneficiaries

Manama, Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, the Director-General of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, and Dr. Waheeb Ahmed Al Khaja, Applied Science University (ASU) Chairman, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in providing specialised educational programmes for the Directorate’s staff and beneficiaries of alternative sanctions.

This initiative aligns with the support of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Minister of Interior, to promote education and training for alternative sanctions beneficiaries, aimed at improving their rehabilitation and reintegration into society. Under the agreement, Applied Science University will offer educational and training programmes designed to develop beneficiaries’ skills and competencies, increasing their future employment prospects and ensuring effective rehabilitation.

Both parties emphasised the importance of this cooperation between educational and correctional institutions in advancing the objectives of res
torative justice in Bahrain and contributing to the sustainable development of society.
