Al-Toumi Addresses Flood Damage and Recovery Efforts in Tarhuna

TARHUNA: In a concerted effort to address the aftermath of recent floods in the city of Tarhuna, the Minister of Local Government, Badr Al-Din Al-Toumi, convened with the Mayor and members of the Municipal Council to discuss ongoing recovery efforts. The meeting focused on assessing the damage and strategizing relief measures for affected families and infrastructure.

According to Libyan News Agency, the minister reviewed preliminary damage assessment reports and identified families in need of temporary housing solutions. These measures are intended to provide relief until comprehensive repairs can be completed on their homes. The discussions also included steps taken by the General Water and Sanitation Company to ensure the safety of well water, including potential sterilization, necessary testing, and treatment operations to maintain public health standards.

Concluding the meeting, the Mayor and Municipal Council members expressed their appreciation for the swift response and support provided by the Government of National Unity. They highlighted the importance of continued collaboration and resources to effectively manage the crisis and support the community in recovery efforts.
