Tripoli: The Minister of Interior of the Government of National Unity, Major General Imad al-Tarabulsi, engaged in discussions with Stephanie Khoury, the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Political Affairs, at the Ministry’s headquarters on Tuesday. The meeting focused on reviewing the latest political and security developments in Libya.
According to Libyan News Agency, the discussions also centered on enhancing cooperation between the Ministry of Interior and the UN mission. Both parties emphasized the need to contribute to supporting stability, achieving security, and advancing dialogue and joint coordination.
During the meeting, Major General al-Tarabulsi highlighted the importance of the existing partnership with the UN mission. He reaffirmed the Ministry of Interior’s commitment to supporting the security and political process while adhering to legal and institutional legitimacy. Al-Tarabulsi stressed the significance of preserving the state’s sovereignty and enhancing its stability.
Furthermore, he reiterated the Ministry’s dedication to fulfilling the tasks related to implementing security arrangements tied to the ceasefire. This includes ensuring security and stability, particularly within the capital, Tripoli, and more broadly across all Libyan cities and regions.
