Tripoli: Chairman of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC), Imad Al-Sayeh, engaged in discussions with the Canadian Ambassador to Libya, Isabelle Savard, focusing on the latest developments in Libya’s electoral process.
According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting centered on the advancements related to the 2025 municipal council elections (Group II) in Libya, with Al-Sayeh highlighting the HNEC’s level of technical and logistical readiness to conduct these elections in alignment with approved professional standards and timelines.
Ambassador Savard acknowledged the efforts by the HNEC in executing the electoral process, commending the organization and professionalism evident in its stages. She reiterated the Canadian government’s ongoing support for Libya’s electoral process and emphasized the importance of collaboration with the HNEC in fostering the democratic process.
